We like to keep things simple, and aren’t keen on the legal jargon you’ll find on some websites. That’s why we’ve written this policy in plain English — not Legalese. Your rights are important, and we’re keen that you understand them.
How we use email
Because we sell products through this website, it counts as an e-commerce store. That means the emails we send are split into two types: transactional and promotional.
Transactional email
This covers all necessary emails associated with transactions you initiate through our store — in other words, when you buy something from us. For example, we legally need to provide you with a receipt or proof of purchase. This is emailed to you automatically once your purchase is completed. We also send a courtesy email once your order has been dispatched.
These emails — and occasionally some others — associated with a purchase you’ve made are necessary transactional emails. They provide critical information and we’re very often legally obliged to send them.
Promotional email
When you make a purchase from us, you’ll also be eligible to receive promotional emails. Don’t worry — you won’t be bombarded with emails. At the time of writing, we send these types of emails less than once a month, and only when we believe it would be of genuine benefit to you.
We follow the GDPR and data protection guidance given by the Information Commissioner’s Office, which means we can email existing customers who have bought or discussed buying a product from us in the past. This guidance also states we need to give you the chance to opt out of these emails.
If you’d like to opt out and unsubscribe from promotional emails, you can. Just scroll to the bottom of the email and click the ‘Unsubscribe’ link, and you’ll be removed immediately. Please note this means we’ll no longer be able to let you know about special offers, discounts or promotions which might be of benefit to you.
Safety and security
We go to great lengths to ensure any data stored online is kept safe and secure.
Transactional emails are handled automatically, and generated by our website. We don’t use cheap mainstream hosting: our shop is hosted by Kinsta, who prioritise security above all else. Transactional emails themselves are sent using Mailjet, who are fully ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant. You can view their security and privacy policy here.
